Kanye West, known for his education-themed album titles, such as The College Dropout and Graduation, has opened his own school in Simi Valley, California.

West, 45, is molding the minds of America’s youth at the Donda Academy. The school welcomed its first students on August 31.

Photos exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com show the eerie campus that was deserted in the middle of the day on September 14, a Wednesday. There were no cars in the parking lot and no signs of life.

The school, that aims to provide a Christian education, could have been observing the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a saints day celebrated on September 14 that commemorates the discovery of the cross that Jesus Christ was crucified on.

There are around 100 students enrolled at the school in addition to 16 full-time teachers. It’s unclear where they were on the day the pictures were taken. West, for his part, was in New York City this week making his presence felt at Fashion Week.

Little was known about the school until Rolling Stone published an expose this week. The school is named West’s mother, Donda.

On the school’s website, the Donda Academy says its goal is ‘to provide youth with the passion, purpose and spiritual foundations they need to thrive in tomorrow’s world.’

The website describes the school as providing students with ‘a world-class education that includes a rigorous core curriculum, and an emphasis on sustainability, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving.’

The school teaches pre-K through to 12th grade. Tuition for the school costs $15,000 per year. Around half of the students are receiving financial aid.

Among the students is singer Keyshia Cole’s son Daniel.

Don’t go to the school expecting to see North, Psalm, Chicago or Saint, because West and Kim Kardashian’s four kids are not enrolled. To Kanye’s chagrin, the children are attending a different private preschool through 12th grade prep school in Los Angeles.

In a text message exchange with his ex-wife that the rapper posted to Instagram in early September, the father of four penned: ‘It’s not up to Calabasas or Hulu where my kids go to school I’m not the crazy one here It’s up. I won’t stop until I have a say so on my kids no matter what it legally takes.’

In another exchange, he insisted he meet with Kim in person and suggested she took charge of their children’s choice in school because Kim, who is a mixture of Western European and Armenian descent, is ‘half white.’

Rolling Stone went on to reveal that the principal Brianne Campbell, 28, has never worked in education.

One of West’s friends, Malik Yusef, told the magazine: ‘I want to be emphatic that there’s never been a time that Kanye West did not want to do this. I think people don’t understand the gravity of that. This man always wanted to create a school in his mama’s name.’

Yusef added: ‘People choose to bring their kids to Donda Academy for a sense of privacy.’

The school’s ‘education consultant’ Tamar Andrews was quoted in the story as saying: ‘Honestly, we don’t care if people know about the school. The people that want to come to the school are looking for a good Christian school in that area, and they know that we’re there.’

She went on: ‘There is also a certain notoriety that comes with being affiliated with Donda. So, I don’t know that we have to advertise, which is a blessing and a curse.’

According to Andrews’ LinkedIn page, she has been associated with the school since July 2022.

West seems interested in expanding his Donda Sports brand now that his Donda Academy is officially open.

Documents obtained by TMZ indicate the Grammy winner, 45, is looking to cash in on merchandise with the Donda brand.

The Praise God artist’s company, Mascotte Holdings, has filed for several new trademarks that would lock up the rights to put the Donda Sports name on apparel such as shirts, jackets, hats, shoes and other clothes.

He also wants to brand bags of all varieties, such as hip bags and luggage, as well as wallets, umbrellas and blankets.

Additionally, there are papers that indicate plans to expand Dove Sports, named after the school’s mascot.

The Dove Sports label would give him exclusive rights to create athletic services such as training sessions, competitions, tournaments, camps, seminars, field trips and even traditional educational frameworks, including classes, workshops and seminars under the umbrella of the label.

The Donda Doves brand would allow the Eazy rapper to put the label on equipment, including baseball bats, basketballs, hockey pucks and more.

The plan appeared for the brand to extend beyond the school, allowing fans to buy their own Doves posters, mugs and sporting goods in Doves’ online retail stores.

Pictures from the cover of Slam, featuring Kanye and the Donda Doves basketball team may give an indication as to what some of the sports gear would look like.

The players are in their team uniform, which is white with the Dove logo on the shirt above their player numbers.

A photo from Kanye’s Facebook page celebrating the academy’s opening day, could give further insight to his plans. The students are attired in loose fitting black pants and long sleeve T-shirts with white wings on the back.
